Point D'Appui

Based on ASL Scenario U5 (from GI's Dozen)

Authors: Cory Runyan and Dan Brown

Date: October 9, 1944

Location: Bardenberg, Germany

Opponents: German Heer attack vs US Army defense

Size: Tiny
Length: 12 turns

Time: Dusk
Weather: Clear
Ground Condition: Dry

As the majority of the 119th Infantry Regiment advanced into North Wuerselen, they left behind a reduced company, commanded by Captain R. Simmons, to protect their line of communication. Captain Simmons deployed the bulk of his troops around a roadblock outside of Bardenberg. There seemed little chance of significant action. Suddenly, as light began to fail, armed German halftracks struck at the small American force.

This scenario is designed for PBEM, but is well suited for play against the computer. When playing against the AI, it is best to play as the Germans, and it is suggested you use the default setup for the Americans.
